About the Host

An avid surfer, water sports enthusiast, and an ex-professional soccer player who grew up leading the team of Israel in prestigious tournaments. Born and raised on the Mediterranean coast, Barak developed a deep love and connection to the ocean from an early age.

"Didn't grow up surfing as a kid"

"As a kid I used to play soccer all day long, some of the time on the sandy beaches of Tel Aviv. The fact that i didn't grow up surfing as a kid magnified my love and appreciation to the waves and to this wonderful sport called - surfing. I remember that my mom used to tell me that I am either playing soccer or at the beach and that I should rest at home from time to time - but I deeply felt this connection with the water and the serenity of the ocean".

"Moving to California"

at the age of 23 Barak moved to California where he successfully completed his Bachelor of Business and Administration at Marymount California University. "I remember arriving to a foreign country as a young man that is now need to sustain his living in a complete different format. It was funny as I remember my first days completely clueless and out of balance". Barak slowly embraced his new life and started to enjoy it to the most ! "In California I lived in Manhattan Beach, which is located in the southern stretch of Los Angeles. Away from the big city life I found my balance. I use to wake up every morning, even if it was at 4am, to be able to surf before my day starts. This slowly became my routine and I remember myself falling in love with it pretty quick. Well, it is very simple - surfing is the most common sport in California and seeing entire families go to surf together every morning really ignite something in me".

A gift from God

Surfing is not a hobby - it is a way of life. After spending 10 years surfing in California and the entire central America in the most prestigious spots of Mexico and Nicaragua, Barak has realized the positive effect the surf has on his life. "It was sort of an awakening journey I went on without even knowing - I just fell in love and kept on living up to this every day. I then realized that I was truly gifted by God and felt the urge to pass it on". Barak's dream was to open a retreat platform that will really change the perspective of people about the world and most importantly about who they really are. "We live in a fast pace world and we often forget to connect whether it is with nature or simply with our inner-self. As a living organisms, human beings are charged by tapping into these states just like your device need a charging cable. I truly believe with what I created and I invite you to join us on this journey we take during our retreats, and hopefully I could pass even just a bit of the "Aloha" way of living to you".
